Milestones are fun. With my review of Mornings on Horseback, I finally reached my 600th book review, a full 22 months after my 500th Book Review.
Perusing my numbers since I first began this adventure in July 2011, I can note the following:
- I’ve averaged 5.8 book reviews per month
- 56% of my reviews were non-fiction (44% fiction)
- 52% of my reviews were Christian (48% secular)
- 51.5% of the books I’ve reviewed were published after 2001
- 25% of the books I’ve reviewed were published before 1980
- Despite my best efforts, there are still 24 publication years from 1900 til now for which I have not yet read and reviewed a book. Part of my goal for the next 100 books is to whittle that number down a bit.
I’ve still got quite a backlog of books to review, and I’m also in the midst of reading four from various genres. But I do believe what someone recently said about quarantines during this ongoing COVID-19 pandemic:
“Now’s the time to get done those things you’ve had on your To-Do List for so long, but just have never taken the time to do.”
I’m on it.
